As conservationists and recreationists who have lived in Gallatin County since 1990 we urge
you to adopt this resolution banning trapping in the Sourdough watershed. This is a publicsafety issue, a wildlife issue and a humane issue. We are a progressive community that cares
about animals, be they wildlife or companions. Trapping is a relic of the 1800s that has noplace in a civilized society.
We have used our local trails for decades and while we haven't had our dogs caught in traps
we know it happens. Our trails are more heavily used than ever and you have a responsibilityto act.
Our precious often imperiled wildlife use riparian corridors and are indiscriminately caught in
traps. They suffer agonizing and prolonged deaths. You can help relieve suffering by adoptingthis resolution.
Thank you for listening.
