I wanted to put in another plug to look into the current codes that minimize parking requirements for mid-town residential developments. The paper highlighted another project that is being proposed without requisite parking. I find this to be a MAJOR oversight of whichever department or board approved the easing of parking requirements. I can't imagine leases to these buildings will be contingent on individuals not having a car. Bozeman is not a major metro area that can sustain living without personal vehicles. Full stop. I'm asking that you intervene to put some kind of hold on the current part of the code that allows for developers to disregard parking requirements in Mid-Town. Once buildings are built, we cannot undo this problem easily. Please help! This is a bigger issue than 'Parking' - it is about quality of life and ultimately the vibrancy and appeal of our communities. Thanks for your attention on this! -John If you would like to submit additional documents (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .gif, .jpg, .png, .rtf, .txt) along with your comment, you may alternately address comments@bozeman.net directly to ensure receipt of all information.
