Dear Bozeman City Commission,
I am writing to express my support for banning trapping in the Sourdough watershed. The
area’s heavy recreational use, particularly by dog owners and families, makes trapping asignificant safety concern. The 500-foot setback from trails is insufficient, especially when
traps can still be placed near popular access points. With thousands of visitors and off-leashdogs frequenting the area, the risk of injury is high. Banning trapping on city-owned land in
Sourdough would prioritize the safety of both people and wildlife, in line with the area’srecreational purpose.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Meglena WahrlichMontana resident
