Read-Only Content Full Name Ian Wargo Email iwargo@rpa-kal.com Phone (406) 253-9879 Comments I would like to submit my comments regarding City of Bozeman Ordinance 2166 (Trapping Ban). As a lifelong resident of Montana (Kalispell), and MSU grad, I see this ordinance as a solution to a problem that does not exist. Outdoor recreation is arguably the #1 reason why people are drawn to the Bozeman area and in addition to breathtaking landscapes, the vibrant area wildlife is the reason for the draw. Trapping in Montana is a crucial tool to keep our wildlife populations in balance. Trapping bans like this sound well intentioned but will ultimately have unintended consequences and will result in harming the very wildlife they are intended to protect. This is a California type management philosophy and has no business being pushed in Montana. Today the proposal is to ban trapping, tomorrow it will be hunting. This ordinance is not based on biology or true Montana values. Please vote NO. Thank you for the opportunity to Comment.
