Dear City Commissioners:
I want to add my voice to the growing chorus of local residents that would like to see trapping
restricted within any distance of the trails in Sourdough Canyon. I am not opposed to huntingat all, and in fact admire the many practicing archers I see in open fields in the past weeks
leading up to bow season. But, trapping isn't sport, it is a relic of the past, it is cruel andunusual punishment to the unfortunate animals that get caught in the traps and die a slow death
until the trapper happens to come back and decide its ultimate fate. I know our currentgovernor shares in this cruelty to animals, but that is no reason to continue to support this
practice this close to where families with small children and pets frequent.
Please send these trappers and by extension our governor deeper into the woods, as deep aspossible.
Sincerely,
William Preston
