Councilmen and Councilwomen;
We say you should scrap the AHO and come up with a solution that meets
real needs of working people.
The Guthrie was not a sensible project. The apartments are not affordable
at about $1700 per month for two people. Why would you put “affordable
housing” in the downtown area where real estate is ultra expensive?
Who would be attracted to 375-600 square foot units with Murphy beds
and hot plates? I can tell you who – people who fly in for a weekend or a
short-term stay.
Parking for only 30% of the residents is ridiculously too few!
The city should not use community resources to fund a for profit
developer for this development or any other in the works.
You are only frustrating the public who cares about Bozeman and the
people who live and work here year round.
How about offering incentives to homeowners who are willing to remodel
their homes to make apartments?
