A City of Bozeman contractor, CK MAY, is repeatedly violating City of Bozeman Noise Ordinances on the N 8th Ave. Water and Sewer Renovation Project. Two times in late Julyand early August CK MAY worked until 2:00 am and operated a front-end loader with a 100- decibel backup alarm. On Thursday 8/8/24 CK MAY started construction at 3:00 am and didnot stop until 8:00 am. On 8/14/24 CK MAY worked until 1:00 am and operated the front-end loader with a 100-decibel backup alarm and scraped the street with a metal bucket as well asdumping large piles of cast iron pipe and moved gravel, causing extremely loud noises and was disturbing the peace in a RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. There is absolutely NO REASON this work could not have been performed during regularworking hours. CK MAY and the city of Bozeman are causing unnecessary stress and endangering the health and well-being of the neighborhood residents. I have missed multipledays of work due to not being able to sleep at all during the overnight hours from the illegal noise caused by this project. People have jobs that are just as important as this road work andCK MAY must not be allowed to violate the noise ordinances. CK MAY or the City obviously planned this work, yet they give no notice or warning to the working residents thatare deeply disturbed by the noise. Last night's noise violations caused me to only be able to get three hours of sleep. I work a dangerous construction job that demands I be fully restedand due to last night's noise, I was injured at work and now I have no income. Again, there is absolutely no legitimate reason that this work cannot occur during regular working hours. There is no emergency work, and the work can be performed during legalhours without affecting the project. It is not fair to allow this disturbance to the neighborhood. This would never be allowed on the South side of town or in front of themayor's house, yet somehow someone at the city thinks it is okay to terrorize the residents of this neighborhood. These noise disturbances are Illegal and must stop now or legal actionagainst the City and CK MAY will be taken.
