Good morning,
This is my public comment.
"I am new to the community (moved on July 22) and the plastic petition is
the first petition I have signed in my life. Why?
Because in my short time in MT, I have been engulfed by the beauty of MT
and I look at this petition as a way that citizens with very little work can
make a huge difference in the environment. I moved from MN where even in
the Boundary Waters (one of the most pristine places in the world), plastic
residue is found everywhere. Microplastics found in Boundary Waters may
threaten wilderness wildlife | Quetico Superior Wilderness News I do not
want this happening to MT which is the most beautiful state in the country.
MT does not want plastics polluting her waterways and endangering wildlife.
I also think there is an argument that other people’s choices (to use plastic
bags) should not impact me. Why should I have to drink water with
microplastics or swim in rivers with microplastics?
There are many alternatives to plastics that are covered under this petition.
This is not a huge ask but will have a big impact."
Very sincerely,
Vanessa
