Mayor Cunningham, Commissioners, City Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk:
My name is Terry Quatraro, my address is 5205 Eclipse Drive, Bozeman.
I am putting a voice to over 10,000 of your community members, those residing within the
city limits and those residing just outside of the city, who have signed a petition to eliminatethe use of single use plastic bags. Many more people I encountered were willing to sign but
were out of the area. A few refused to sign because they felt they didn't want someone else torestrict their choice.
My point is I am asking you to recognize the Montana Code to allow the plastic initiative to be
placed on the ballot this November 2024 which would allow everyone the chance to maketheir voice count on this issue.
Your decision as Commissioners is an opportunity to give everyone a voice in their
community and will be viewed as a positive move.
You all were chosen to represent all of your constituents. By allowing this initiative to beplaced on this November 's ballot you are indeed representing the entire community.
Please don't let this opportunity slip through your grasp. The decision is in your hands.
Do you want to be seen as agreeing to respond to the community? Or
Do you want to be seen as a ruling body that ignores the voices of those you serve?
The choice is yours.
