My name is Lyla Brown and I live in the Baxter Meadows apartment complex. I am a young
person who has lived, worked, and learned in Bozeman for the last eight years, and have
called Montana my home for longer. In the last eight years the cost of rent and living in Bozeman has skyrocketed and made it unattainable for people who call Montana their
home and to young people who live here. If Bozeman is going to be the town that is safe, inclusive and attainable for young people to thrive in our community. There is not enough
housing to accommodate the number of people that currently live here and make Bozeman what it is. If our city does not face this fact and solve the housing affordability crisis
Bozeman will lose talented, involved and passionate community members and leaders that will hurt our town in the long run. The current AHO is allowing housing to meet the needs of
the community, and it is important to continue to invest in proactive solutions that help the average Bozeman community member. Rolling back pieces of the AHO would cause harm
to the future security and safety of our community, and our city needs to continue to invest in solutions that are deeply meaningful. I am urging the commission to continue to invest
time and resources into solving the housing affordability and availability crisis, and continue to invest resources into our current AHO.
