Dear Bozeman Mayor and City Commissioners,
I am a Bozeman resident and I'm writing to urge you to keep the Affordable Housing
Ordinance in place. We all know Bozeman is in a housing crisis, and while no one solutionwill be enough on its own, we need to use every tool available to increase affordable housing
in Bozeman. We need the Affordable Housing Ordinance, and we need to strengthen it, andpursue other policy solutions at the same time.
In the six years I've lived in Bozeman, I've seen rent skyrocket. I'm lucky to have a place to
live at the moment, but if I have to move in the future, I know it would be extremelychallenging to find affordable housing. I know many people haven't been so lucky and have
left the community or ended up unhoused. We desperately need more affordable housing, andthe Affordable Housing Ordinance helps increase supply.
Please keep the Affordable Housing Ordinance in place and protect the tools we have for
combating the housing crisis.
