When it comes to housing, there is one undeniable truth: everyone deserves the right to safe and affordable housing. But that safe and affordable housing should not come at the expenseof walkable communities and a beautiful city. It is necessary to not only increase housing available, but make sure that housing is the housing our community wants to (and can affordto) live in. Strengthening this ordinance is the first step in a very long process of ensuring a better development for Bozeman. That doesn't look like luxury apartments, but rather strengtheningchances of homeownership, reducing parking mandates and more, as this AHO would do. I strongly support the changes proposed to the AHO and believe that anyone opposed to them does not have the best interests of all Bozeman residents in mind. Without a strongerordinance, it will only get more and more difficult to stay in this beautiful place we all call home, letting it become overrun by luxury developments and vacation homes. Keep Bozemanours, and approve the changes to the AHO.
