The affordable housing ordinance never asked homeowners what they're comfortable with, and so it should be repealed and start over. These buildings are huge, and they shouldn't be allowed everywhere! Keep them on 19th orsomething like that. You can't get the incentives back after 30 or 50 years, so you shouldn't let the affordability requirement expire either. Is the developer going to give back the 2 stories of height, or all theparking they get to use? No. So if we're going to make it so they profit more, we need the housing to at least be affordable in perpetuity. If we have to give developers "incentives" we need to make sure they build more thandormitories. Nobody will want to stay there very long and then we just have a bunch of transient workers who don't care about their neighborhoods. Doesn't matter what class oftransient workers. The tech-bro's are just as bad as the construction industry's exploited immigrants. What does the anti-airbnb thing say, "neighbors not nightmares". Our longterm renter neighbors are awesome, because we get to know them. They put up these huge buildings and all the people near them end up selling and moving away. It's terrible. Go back to the drawing board please, and this time let homeowners help decide what we giveaway. Thanks, Andrew Knaub
