BACKGROUND:Bozeman Creek activation and improvements have been a priority of the Downtown Improvement Plan and continue to be of interest to the community and City Commissioners in order to better integrate our drainage systems, celebrate our natural heritage and increase safety potential. #SeeBozemanCreek is a group of committed community members who are meeting regularly and trying to make progression on this project. The Downtown URD and Partnership have supported efforts on small beautification and mitigation projects over the years but there has been some recent developments and interest. Jim Madden is attending to present on the recent headway. Currently the DURD has committed $20,000 in planning funds to support these efforts. This is in addition to the encumbered $10,000 that has been committed by the DURD (in FY24) as a match to the $50,000 Coal Endowment Fund Grant awarded to this project for critical engineering work. This will be reimbursed to the City of Bozeman, who is overseeing the grant and work done, upon submission of the engineering report.
