We are so pleased that the City has prioritized some funding for the Warming Center; we ask that that the City also considers the needs of survivors of domestic violence who need a secure shelter with wraparound services. Please consider renewing the City's support of $40,000 to help fund Haven's shelter. As you consider Bozeman's urban camping ordinance, please do so with empathy and understanding for those who have no choice but to camp. Without a significant increase in funding for shelters and transitional housing, local nonprofits cannot meet the existing need for housing. I urge the City to be a leader in Montana, both at the level of support dedicated to housing options, and in creating an urban camping ordinance that will support a safe option for those experiencing homelessness. Thank you for taking this perspective into consideration as you make decisions moving forward. Alicia Singer Haven Board Member 307-899-3265
