Ridiculously good point!

I'm writing today to thank you for the direct mailed notice about a potential increase in the
special assessment to my property of less than $1 for the purpose of maintaining trees in allpublic spaces, rights-of-way, and parks located within the city limits.
I cannot overstate the importance of trees and their role in maintaining a habitable city and I
am so happy to contribute to their maintenance.
I would at the same time like to express my dismay at the fact that no such mailing was sentto me in the process of rewriting the UDC. The proposed quadrupling of allowed density,
and increased height allowance, that would have been applied to my property and myneighborhood would have far greater fiscal impacts, and quality of life impacts, than the
proposed changes to this special assessment.
Can we please send the same type of direct mailing, with clear and honest language, to allproperty owners who's allowed density, buildable height, or status of inclusion/exclusion in
the NCOD will be altered in the new UDC? This seems appropriate.
Thank you,
