A trails only option appears to not be an option since the City made the decision in 2022 to a
proceed with a 2 line road.
It appears the City must still purchase various private parcels whether for the trails only or the2 lane road scenarios.
Points/Ideas to further consider:
1. We agree that a maximum 25 mph speed limit is very wise, and it also eliminates the need
for any flashing red-lights at any crossing (NOT neighborhood friendly). Any red lights arenot neighborhood friendly .
2. The current City used dirt road connections between Rose Street and Lilly, and also
between Annie and Farmall should be made permanent, so trash and other large cityutility trucks and large delivery vans, and others don't have to back up about 4 houses to New
Holland; if not made permanent it would create an extremely dangerous environment. Thereare currently 6 streets that are not designed as cul-de-sacs, so they just blunt end. This idea
solves 2 big problems for 4 of the 6 street deadends.
3. With slower speed limit (max 25 mph) the traffic noise would be kept low and the need forso many noise abating trees would be decreased, thereby reducing initial cost and ongoing
maintenance costs, and thereby preserving the beautiful Montana sunsets which many/mostresidents enjoy.
The rest of the ideas in your July 14th Notice seem pretty reasonable.
