After speaking with recreation directors at Eagle Mount, I learned some important things about what it's like to be in a wheelchair in Bozeman. When asked if the trail systems areaccessible for folks in wheelchairs, the response was simple: "They're not." The Fowler project offers an opportunity for the city to set a precedent with a fresh take on what connecting people to nature and each other looks like in our town. I love Addi Jadin'svision for connecting north and west side neighborhoods to the rest of the city, aligning the Cattail Creek Corridor with the Fowler Ave Corridor, and providing connectivity to GVLT'sRaptor Route. Since the budget allocated for this project is no longer needed for extra wide, expensive, heat- producing concrete and asphalt, perhaps it could be used to design environmentally friendly, permeable trails that are good for trees while also being truly accessible for our neighbors using wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, little ones on strider bikes, as well as bicyclecommuters. There are inexpensive ways to preserve these beautiful trees and the cooling shade they provide while also making this corridor a lovely place for people of all abilities to enjoy.Thank you for thinking big picture with this project. Sincerely, Adrianne Wallace 211 N Sweetgrass Ave Bozeman, MT 59718
