Hello Bozeman City Commission,
Please deny The Guthrie based on its numerous shortcomings.
To name a few:
* The Guthrie does not actually provide affordable housing. The "one- bedroom" units are
priced for a two-person income. Note, there are other apartment rentals in Bozeman withmore than twice the square footage for the same price.
* The size of the proposed apartments are ridiculously small; it would be the densest
apartment complex in all of Montana, all set within our Northside single-family neighborhood.
* The parking is far from adequate for the number of units. This level of parking could workin Europe, but most people in MT drive cars! The overflow parking will go into the
adjacent neighborhoods. It is not right for the developer to get the deep incentive of adrastically-reduced parking requirement. We have a home on N. 4th, we pay our taxes, and
we deserve (and need) our on-street parking! The developer's break = the taxpayer'smisfortune.
Please, please, please deny The Guthrie. Do not prioritize the developer's profit over all else!
