A developer who owns the property at 811 W. Mendenhall has not mowed the lawn one time
this year. The grass on this property is literally three feet tall and each evening deer arebedding down on the property. The deer brought by the lack of lawn maintenance are causing
a traffic hazard on W. Mendenhall in the early mornings and I almost hit one the other day. Everyone else has to take care of their property and follow the City Codes and Ordinances, but
this developer thinks because they have bought off the City Commissioners that they areabove the law and do not have to follow the same rules as everyone else.
This developer's lack of property maintenance is bringing my property values down and
causing health and safety issues in my neighborhood. Please enforce the codes and let thisdeveloper know that just because they have more money than the neighbors does not mean
they can ignore the law and trash the neighborhood. This same developer did not shovel thesidewalk one time in the last two years and I am still recovering from a bad fall I took on their
icy sidewalk last winter. We are starting to have a rodent and pest control problem on theadjoining properties because this evil developer does zero maintenance and is creating a health
and safety issue for the neighborhood.
Due to an extreme lack of care and maintenance, the property at 811 W. Mendenhall now
qualifies as a nuisance property under the City of Bozeman Ordinances.
According to Article 2. - Nuisances section of the Bozeman Municipal Code, a "PublicNuisance" is generally defined as a building or structure that is unsafe or a hazard which
creates a potential danger to life, property, or health. It can also include such things asattractive nuisances and buildings or places in such disrepair that other crimes end up
occurring. Unsecured abandoned houses and properties with excessive garbage and/ orvehicles could fall into this category.
Please investigate this public nuisance property immediately before the health and safety of
the neighborhood residents is further compromised and threatened.
