Dear Mayor Cunningham and esteemed City Commissioners, In the beginning of this sad story, a much needed nursing facility closed. Home Base Partners bought it, saying it would be renovated as workforce housing. But then, that was too costly, ie: low profit! Now a towering, high profit structure is proposed with inadequate parking and serious safety issues for the existing neighborhood and local school. Nationwide 8.7% of adults don't have a vehicle, mainly because they can't afford one, not bychoice. If that statistic is applied to the 111 unit Guthrie, then 98 parking spots would be required. (And that assumes only 1 vehicle per household). Only 39 parking spots are providedin the proposal, the remaining 60 some apartment owners would have to find a spot, blocks away, in winter, what about knee surgeries?, visitors?. etc... Sadly, our neighbors are moving out because it is too congested and unaffordable to live inMidtown, with the giant developments just to the east. The Guthrie will make things worse! Please reject this project and revamp the planning for Midtown before it is too late! Respectfully,Mary Keck 411 North 3rd AvenueBozeman
