Bozeman City Commissioners: Over the weekend I became aware of the proposed project in mid-town referred to as "Guthrie". Please consider my comments below: - It's my understanding that in the interest of this project being approved that developers have set aside a number of units as "affordable" housing which (to my understanding) are approx. 350 s.f. in size, with limited kitchen facilities, limited parking options and all at the bargain basement rent of $1750/mo. Is this a "good deal" do you think? I hope you understand this is a ploy and not an acceptable affordable housing option all in the interest of the developer gaining approval for the rest of the project. Why is this so obvious to me....unless my facts are wrong or misstated. - It is also my understanding that the Bozeman Development Board has the right to approve such projects....and, without City Commission approval. Am I correct and, if so, given the high level of resident pushback on the UDC don't you think the citizens of Bozeman would expect their highest officials to be involved in the approval of such projects and not a board dedicated to development? Conflict of interest, maybe? - I continue confused as to why within the citizen uproar over the past year related to the new UDC and development that such a project would even come up for approval at this time....or, at least not until a new UDC is confirmed. Thank you for your consideration and if any of my assumptions above are wrong please let me know. Many thanks. Jeffrey Loeb 1017 S. 4th Ave. Bozeman, 5715 314-496-3441
