Rouse Bozeman, Montana 59715 Re: Harper's Corner Zone Map Amendment/Application 23127 Bozeman City Commission, Regular Meeting, June 18, 2024,Agenda Item H.1 Thank you for your no vote regarding the proposed zoning of this parcel. It is important commissioners consider the neighborhood of proposed developments and the probable negative impacts of the development to the neighborhood. The proposal was clearly inappropriate for this neighborhood. I've watched with dismay the past few years as the commission routinely approved developers' proposals that did not serve the neighborhood, or the citizens of Bozeman. In fact, from my vantage point at the Carnegie Library, I watched, on multiple occasions, affordable housing destroyed only to be replaced with unaffordable housing. Incredibly, this was done under the leadership of"progressive" Commissioners Mehl,Andrus, and Cunningham. However, their policies regarding development are anything but progressive, feathering the nests of corporate developers while destroying neighborhoods. I know these commissioners meant well but their development policies were and are destructive, aggravating housing needs. You had the fortitude to say no to a development that was inappropriate. Thanks for listening to the citizens you represent who overwhelmingly are unhappy with what's been done to their community and neighborhoods. I know the work is difficult; thanks for your service.
