Bozeman City Commission; This is a copy of the public comment I submitted two years ago and for which I never received an acknowledgement. Assuming it got lost in the shuffle of the long, long, long overdueprocess this improvement has taken to materialize I want to resubmit: Strong support of Fowler Avenue extension. We moved back to Bozeman in 1993 (having lived here in the 80’s as students). We looked at several houses on the east side of (N) Sweetgrass Ave but knew even way back then (30+ years ago!!!) that they backed up to the proposed and logical Fowler Avenue extension so we purchased a house on (N) Sheridan Ave instead. Anyone who purchased a house on the east side of Sweetgrass Ave anytime in the last 3 decades (!!!) certainly did so with the full knowledge that Fowler Ave would eventually be extended “in their backyard” and would/could effect their long term property values and green-space; it was their free choice to do so and they have enjoyed/become accustomed to the “privilege” for 30 years. Now the few want to impose the effects of their poor real estate/financial decision on the many and the commission hasn’t found it within them to overcome their inertia. Fowler Ave is, was, and forever shall be the logical (and long, long, long overdue) north-south connector on the west side of Bozeman connecting present Fowler to now improved Davis Lane. Please get along with this important and rationale transportation expansion/improvement project and don’t succumb to the irrational request of a few to downgrade it from the major arterial it needs to be into a glorified street!!
