Mr. Mayor, Mr. Deputy Mayor, and Commissioners—
On behalf of the HRDC Streamline Advisory Board and GVUTD Board, I am
writing to thank the City for its continued funding and partnership in
financing the operations of the Streamline Transit bus service and GalavanParatransit service.
Investing in Streamline and Galavan benefits everyone in the Bozeman
community. These services support opportunity and self-sufficiency forarea residents and promote fairness and comparison.
The Streamline Transit and Galavan Paratransit services align with the
City's goal and objectives, including improving equity and inclusion(Belong in Bozeman Transportation Plan Goal 1: Expand reliable transit
and paratransit services, prioritizing winter accessibility), sustainability and
climate goals (Action 4.J.4. Pursue Sustainable Transit Funding and
Expansion; Action 4.J.5. Support Employee Trip Reduction Programs andTransportation Demand Management; Action 4.J.6. Support Regional
Transit Service Coordination and Outreach) and numerous objectives in
the City's 2020 Community Plan land use plan and 2017 Transportation
Master Plan.
Maintaining current levels of service will particularly depend on the City's
financial support in the coming years as Streamline navigates a substantial
reduction in available federal funding associated with the transition fromreceiving FTA 5311 Rural Transit funding to receiving FTA 5307 Small
urban transit funding. Ongoing financial support from the City of Bozeman
will also be essential to continue leveraging available federal funding by
meeting local match requirements.
On behalf of the HRDC Streamline Advisory Board and the
GVUTD Governing Board thank you for your continued financial support of
these vital community services.
Mark Egge
GVUTD Board Chair
