Hi, I am not sure if it is too late to write in regarding the application to build on Harper’s Corner Application. However, as a resident of the Timberline Ridge Mobile Home Community (formerly Hidden Valley Mobile Estates), I wanted to make my opposition of this addition known. Adding high density housing to this area will negatively impact our area in so many ways. Traffic and cost of living would greatly increase and safety, serenity, and land would decrease. Hidden Valley Road is not made for high density housing. It is a small road that rarely has traffic - trying to filter hundreds of people in and out of that road everyday would be a nightmare. Not to mention, with more people comes more crime. I currently feel so safe where I live. The only traffic is people that live in the area, and no one even knows Timberline Ridge is back there. You start growing the area, and all of a sudden that feeling of safety is gone. I can’t help but think that the farmers/ranchers in the area will start selling their land as a result, and pretty soon the whole area will be covered in high density housing or other developments. It will ruin the peacefulness of the area and no longer feel like we are in Montana (as many long term residents in Bozeman already feel). The only reason it feels like rural Montana currently is because we are surrounded by untouched land and don’t have multiple story houses blocking our views of the mountains. I am also concerned that these developments would greatly increase the cost of living for people that have lived there for years and can’t afford to go elsewhere. Speaking from experience, I moved into Timberline Ridge because I couldn't afford to buy a home anywhere else in Bozeman. But even if I could, I love the area enough that I would want to stay. I get to be close to the excitement of the city center while being removed enough to feel like we are still in Montana. If I had to move because my lot rent kept increasing, I would be devastated. Not only is it wrong to force hundreds of people right on top of the current residents, but it is cruel to choose to develop an area that is one of the last affordable places to live that is still considered in the town of Bozeman. I ask that you consider how this would affect the current residents in the area rather than how it could profit the developer. Bozeman is in a constant state of development. The residents on Harper’s Corner ask that you reconsider letting this area be one of them. Don’t take away the small glimpses of old Montana that we still have left. Thank you for your time, Katara Cade
