Greetings!
As valued stakeholders of the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)’s long-rangetransportation plan, TranPlanMT, you were asked last summer to share your input regarding
Montana’s transportation system through a stakeholder survey performed by the University ofMontana (UM BBER). This biennial effort is an important part of TranPlanMT, and the responses
provided will help MDT continue to plan, build, and maintain a transportation system that serves
Montanans and the general traveling public of our state. The responses gathered for both theStakeholder and Public Involvement surveys have been compiled and the results are published
and available online.
In 2023…
Out of nine (9) stakeholder groups invited to participate in the survey, there were 379 totalresponses.
These respondents reported being generally satisfied with Montana’s overall transportation
system.Their highest priorities for improving Montana’s transportation system were maintaining road
pavement condition, improving transportation safety, and maintaining interstates and majorhighways.

TranPlanMT website. Follow the link under “Surveys” and navigate to the bottom of the web page
to select the 2023 survey report (or the biennium survey reports you’d like to view). If you havecomments, questions or would like to update your stakeholder contact information for the next
