Dear Bozeman City Mayor, Deputy, Mayor, and Bozeman Commissioners, I am writing in support of Emma Bode’s appointment on the Bozeman City Commission. Emma embodies the traits of a true community leader. She is open-minded, action- oriented, a compassionate listener, and she possesses a deep and interdisciplinary skill set in sustainability sciences and social change movements. Emma’s community leadership skills and experiences in our town are exemplary! She has hands-on experience in the local government process as demonstrated by her roles in community orgs, governmental boards, advisory councils, and local task forces. I am particularly impressed by her leadership on Bozeman's Sustainability Advisory Council. What hasn’t she been a part of?? Her work with Forward Montana, Gallatin Sunrise Movement, among others is inspiring and always inviting - she knows how to engage people into important issues and sees the ways that others can contribute their strengths. These are the qualities of a dedicated and passionate community leader and I want to see her lead our town from a seat on the City Commission. I am hopeful that you will recognize the need for a young visionary leader, Emma Bode, to be in spaces of importance and power in our community. Emma has shown that she is dedicated to our community and I know first hand how enjoyable it is to work alongside her when building and envisioning big dreams for our future. Appointing Emma as Bozeman City Commissioner will show me that the Bozeman City Commission is honoring the needs of young, progressive, and queer Bozeman residents. I believe that Emma is the best fit to fill Christopher Coburn’s seat. Emma not only possesses experience and enthusiasm for the role, her lived-experiences will provide necessary perspective and insight for the Bozeman City Commission. I see my own values and priorities in the issues that Emma advocates for, and these are the same reasons why I voted for Christopher Coburn. Emma Bode represents the best of Bozeman and I know she will do a phenomenal job growing and blossoming the ways out City Commission serves its residents. Please consider my letter of support in your decision making process. Sincerely, Cassidy Reeves
