Dear Commissioners, I am writing in support of Emma Bode’s application for the open position on the
Commission. I have known Emma for several years, as a mentor for a family in
Bienvenidos, and then as a crucial helper as we developed the infrastructure of the organization. She helped to set up our What’s App account which has continued to serve our families and our volunteers as a good method of communication.
As her application indicates, she has served in various capacities in City organizations
and with local non-profits. As Bozeman grows and becomes more diverse, I believe Emma has personal contacts and knowledge of many groups with whom current Commission members may not be acquainted. This will be an asset in your efforts to include more citizens in setting policies for our growth and other important issues. As she
stated in her letter, she can represent many of the same people that elected Chris Coburn;
renters, young people, and those who are concerned about climate change. Emma knows how to show up and work hard. I hope you will consider her application positively and give her the opportunity to join you.
