Hello City Comments Inbox, I wanted to provide comments on the Fowler Avenue Connection project: Overall, I think the project as it is proposed today is much better than it was a couple years ago. I like how preserving the existing green space was prioritized as well as how the existingpath through the park on the south end of the project is utilized. However, I think there is still room for improvement. In general, I like the bike ramps that are found around the City - I appreciate how theyseparate the bicyclist from car traffic. However, one thing I have experienced with them that I don't like is how they force bicyclists and pedestrians together. I think this is dangerousbecause bikes can move much faster than pedestrians which can result in injuries to both the bicyclist and pedestrian in the event of an accident. I would like to ask that the City and thedesign team explore the opportunity to separate bicyclists and pedestrians as they navigate around the roundabout. City code rightfully restricts bicyclists from riding on the sidewalk since it poses a danger topedestrians using the sidewalk. Similarly, City code prohibits pedestrians from being in the road where there is a sidewalk present. In both cases, there's a speed differential that can onlybe rectified by total separation. I think we should extend this principle to this design as well.
