To whom it may concern, My name is Emily Allison and I’m delivering this statement on behalf of Bridgercare, Bozeman’s nonprofit reproductive and sexual health care clinic that’sbeen serving the Gallatin Valley for more than 50 years. As proud supporters of Bozeman’s LGBTQ+ community, Bridgercare is echoing the calls of Bozeman Pride organizers in service of a Pride event in which our queer community can feel safe, supported, and celebrated in peace. We are asking: 1) First, for an action and strategy plan for responses to threats directed toward local queer communities. These threats are increasing in frequency and severity, and we ask that the City be unequivocal in its condemnation, and vocal in support of targeted communities. 2) Second, we ask that the City amends our Belonging in Bozeman Plan to recognize June as Pride Month and support an annual Pride celebration as a City priority. 3) Last, we ask that the City recognize that Pride is a celebration, not a protest, andact accordingly to ensure that organizers and attendees feel safe with the support of City officials and staff. Thank you very much for your consideration and support! – Bridgercare Emily Allison (she/her) Development Director | Bridgercare P 406-587-0681 x137 eallison@bridgercare.org www.bridgercare.org
