Dear Commissioners,
I am a queer person living in Bozeman. For the most part, I feel seen and included in my
community. Our city government has indeed worked to make visible its support of queerpeople in Bozeman. In response to recent threats, you -- our city representatives -- have the
opportunity to take steps to make this inclusivity concrete. The queer community is proudlyshowing up. Please, listen to -- and join -- the organized and spectacular people working to
protect themselves and their peers:
"We request an action and strategy plan for response to threats directed toward our local queercommunities, including public debriefs with our local officials following a threat
We ask for the city to amend the Belonging in Bozeman and Equity and Inclusion Plan to
recognize June as Pride Month and support an annual Pride celebration as a city priority.
We demand the City of Bozeman recognizes that pride is a celebration and not a protest."
Thank you for your time, Isabel Shaida
