Construction requirements related to the Bozeman Solvent Site in this area are not identified in the Record of Decision (DEQ 2011). Please let me know if you have questions. I’ve attached the groundwater monitoring that has been taken this spring (during a very wet spring with a year with a strong snowpack. Neither our stormwater (nor other utilities) nor our foundation excavations are anticipated to go as deep as groundwater has been found (about ~12-13 feet deep… which should represent peak groundwater). To give some perspective, we believe our utilities will be about 6-7’. CAUTION: This email originated from outside the organization. The City requires us to contact you both for construction requirements regarding construction within the solvent site source area. Attached is the figure Kate previously sent of the DNRC Controlled Groundwater Area. I added a red rectangle to the figure in cell B7 that roughly represents the development location located at the NW corner of the Mandeville Lane and Wheat Drive intersection. Since I last reached out a few months ago, we have confirmed that construction for this project is not anticipated to require dewatering, per recent groundwater monitoring investigations and further design development. If we are not anticipating needing a dewatering permit for construction of this project, I wanted to confirm there are no further construction requirements that we need to be considering for this project to satisfy City and State requirements related to the solvent site source area.
