LANDSCAPE/IRRIGATION MATERIALS WITH GENERAL CONTRACTOR
2.CONTRACTOR SHALL EVALUATE EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS AND REMEDY AS REQUIRED TO
PROVIDE FOR HEALTHY PLANT GROWTH AND MITIGATE UNSIGHTLY CONDITIONS
3.CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES WITH OTHER TRADES
4.ALL PLANT MATERIAL SHALL BE INSTALLED AS DETAILED. IF NOT SHOWN, INSTALL
ACCORDING TO MONTANA ASSOCIATION OF NURSERYMEN
5.CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL PLANT QUANTITIES. THE ILLUSTRATED LOCATION SHALL
DICTATE COUNT
6.DURING INSTALLATION OF PLANT MATERIAL AND IRRIGATION, CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP ALL
WORK AREAS AND WALKING AND DRIVEWAY SURFACES CLEAN OF DEBRIS. PROTECT ALL
PLANT AND IRRIGATION MATERIALS FROM DAMAGE DUE TO LANDSCAPE OPERATIONS OR
ACTIVITIES BY OTHER CONTRACTORS AND TRADES. MAINTAIN PROTECTION DURING
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE PERIODS. TREAT, REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY DAMAGED
PLANTINGS, MATERIALS OR IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT IMMEDIATELY
7.IN THE EVENT OF ANY DISCREPANCIES, NOTIFY THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT IMMEDIATELY
8.NO PLANT SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED WITHOUT WRITTEN CONSENT FROM THE
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
9.COORDINATE INSTALLATION OF ALL PLANTINGS AND IRRIGATION WITH LANDSCAPE

AMENDMENTS SHALL BE APPLIED AS RECOMMENDED FROM THE SOIL TESTING AGENCY.
13.CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPPLY AND INSTALL TOPSOIL/PLANTING MEDIUM AS DETAILED.
14.6" OF TOPSOIL/PLANTING MEDIUM IS REQUIRED FOR ALL TURF SEEDED AREAS AND IN
LANDSCAPE BEDS: SEE PLANTING DETAILS FOR PERENNIAL, SHRUB AND TREE TOPSOIL
MEDIUM DEPTH REQUIREMENTS
15.ADDITIONAL OR SUPPLEMENTAL TOPSOIL / PLANTING MEDIUM MAY BE REQUIRED TO MEET
PLANTING REQUIREMENTS FOR AMENDED SOIL. THE PLANTING AREA SHALL NOT BE
UNSUITABLE WITH COMPACTED BACKFILL, BUT FERTILE WELL DRAINED LOAMY TOPSOIL WITH
APPROPRIATE SOIL AMENDMENTS CORRESPONDING TO THE NEEDS OF THE PERFORMED SOIL
TEST. SOIL AMENDMENTS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY A SOIL TESTING AGENCIES
RECOMMENDATION.
PLANTING NOTES
1.A NATIVE DROUGHT TOLERANT TURF GRASS SPECIES MIX SHALL BE USED AS SPECIFIED OR AN
APPROVED ALTERNATIVE WITH A PLANT WATER FACTOR OF .5 OR LESS AS DEFINED BY THE
MONTANA NURSERY & LANDSCAPE ASSOCIATION DROUGHT TOLERANT SPECIES LIST
2.SEEDED AREAS ARE 9,217 SQ FT IN TOTAL. APPROX. 1,826 SQ FT WITHIN PROPERTY LINE,
APPROX. 7,391 SQ FT STREET FRONTAGE
3.APPLY SEED MIX EVENLY AT A RATE OF 92 LBS PER 9,217 SQ FT USING A SLIT SEEDER OR
HYDROSEEDING METHOD. SEED MIX SHALL CONSIST OF 46 LBS OR 50% SHEEP FESCUE, 18 LBS
OR 20% ANNUAL RYEGRASS, AND 28 LBS OR 30% CREEPING RED FESCUE
4.MAINTAIN CONSISTENT MOISTURE OF TOP 4" OF SOIL FOR AT LEAST 2-3 WEEKS TO ESTABLISH
