Head of Transportation Dept.,
I am writing about the intersection of Fairway Drive and Kagy. I walk along Kagy
several times per week to access the trail to Peet's Hill. The intersection mentioned
above is a real challenge to cross due to the curves when cars are travelling east
and west. Sometimes I have to step out into the street and wave my arms before
a car will stop. I find this dangerous.
When the weather gets nice, there are dozens of people trying to cross this
intersection to continue their way on the Sourdough trail. Moms with strollers,
families with young children on bikes and stride bikes, kids on bikes and skateboards
or roller skates all use these crosswalks.
I am writing to encourage the City to place a blinking cross light like the ones on
Kagy through MSU. That would allow everyone to cross safely. I hate to think that
someone
has to be injured or killed before the City will act. A speed limit of 35 mph is totally
unacceptable in this part of Kagy. In addition to Fairway Drive, cars are exiting or
turning into Valley View Golf Course, and futher west into Kagy Corners. Please
consider this problem a high priority!
I would appreciate an answer either in writing or by phone 406 587 9411. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Aw
