Dear City Commission,
Thank you for adding the Action Item H1.Decision to Reclaim the Guthrie at 5th and Villard Site Plan and
Commercial Certificate of Appropriateness, and Demolition Application 23354 to your April 16, 2024 agenda.
In addition to reclaiming Application 23354 for Commission review and public noticing,please also consider amending this motion to revisit the Deep Incentives package only recentlyadopted. We can already see the gaps in the resolution/code language that does not protect ourcommunity in the name of providing housing for people to live in this same community. Let’stake the time to get the Deep Incentives right. Please consider repealing the Deep Incentives asthey are currently written.
More specifically, The Guthrie has to go back to the drawing board to fit in to the existingneighborhood and ESPECIALLY if it is also to be a recipient of any incentives.
A deep thank you, again, for recognizing the importance of this project as a precedent-settingone. Let’s not keep making the same mistakes of destroying existing neighborhood character.Let’s make Bozeman better by cherishing its history and thoughtfully planning and developingfor a future that maintains the quality of life we all seek and deserve.
