The legacy of Billy Conway (1956-2021), one of the most influential drummers in
American music history, continues to inspire and support the next generation of artists
through the Billy Conway Artist Fund (BCAF). Known for his exceptional skill, creative
generosity, and deep connection to Montana, Conway's spirit lives on in a unique
opportunity for Indigenous musicians in the region.
Today, BCAF opened its application cycle for 2024, offering an unparalleled
mentorship and financial assistance program designed to elevate the careers of
emerging Indigenous musical artists from Montana.
Interested artists should submit an application detailing their musical background,
goals, challenges, and how they believe mentorship can enhance their career. The
application period for the Billy Conway Artist Fund 2024 cycle closes on April 24,
2024.

The Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC) is seeking a full-time Executive
Director to lead the ZACC in cultivating community through accessible arts
experiences for all. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to work strategically
and foster coordination and collaboration among multiple stakeholders. They are
committed to thinking innovatively to ensure the focus on the core mission in
changing landscapes. This position is an opportunity to engage with the arts
community, nonprofit leaders, community stakeholders, partners, employees, and
customers to foster art accessibility.
Qualifications:
Masters Degree or 5 years of relevant experience
Leadership experience in for profit and nonprofit roles preferred
Proven success in a leadership role in a similar organization
Knowledge of the Missoula arts community

Montana Writers Rodeo

and Sweetgrass Books, the Montana Writers Rodeo will take place at the Helena
Avenue Theatre at 1319 Helena Avenue in Helena, Montana. This engaging
conference hosted by MPN President, Pamela Mencher, MPN Treasurer, Pearl Allen,
and Co-Directors, Mindy Peltier and Christa Chiriaco, invites writers of all genres from
across the state to gather for story education, author readings, and networking.
