Ladies and Gentlemen of the Bozeman City Commission,
Thank you for your work on the Bozeman City Commission. Yours is a difficult job and toooften the great things achieved by the Commission are quickly forgotten. At the same time, it
seems that too many building projects in central Bozeman benefit developers more than theresidents of Bozeman. For this reason, I am writing to you today.
I oppose The Guthrie Project which has been proposed for development at 5th and Villard in
Bozeman. Yes, we need affordable housing. Yes, we need housing for construction workers. But a building such as The Guthrie to be located at 5th and Villard is not the right solution. It
will create excessive parking and traffic issues and safety concerns for nearby WhittierElementary school.
A Better Solution - Build The Guthrie on land on South 19th or west of central Bozeman.
The land would be less expensiveParking and traffic could be better managed
It would not disrupt Bozeman’s existing Midtown neighborhoodIt would alleviate safety concerns related to Whittier School
Thank you.
