I am speaking in strong opposition to the proposed “Guthrie” building on 5th and Villard St.Having spent most of my 80 years in this neighborhood and having attended Whittier school
as a young child, i feel it is almost criminal what the city has allowed and continues to allowAndy Holloran to do to our neighborhoods. I’m not sympathetic to the hurdles facing
developers when (as an example) my six local grandchildren, almost certainly, will never beable to afford property in our community.
It seems as though our city officials are bending over backwards with special incentive
packages for developers such as HBP, that ultimately fly in the faces of the surroundingneighbors.
