We, as a community, have been begging the commission to preserve our COMMUNITY. A development such as the Guthrie where the intent is to house a short-term, transientcommunity, does the exact OPPOSITE of what we have been pleading for. The plan is for tiny apartments with short leases and zero parking, meaning increased parking and traffic, increased crime (less accountability since short-term renters aren't part of the community), and all right next to an elementary school and established residential community. What we want - affordable FAMILY housing, safe and quiet streets, greenspace, sunshine. The Guthrie is none of that. As developers want to make a fast buck, long term community members are left holding the bill - literally and figuratively as our natural resources are depleted, our taxes go up, and wewill be left to deal with the leftovers once the building boom is over and the city crashes. This sounds dramatic, but no one will want to move or live here when we have no fresh water, icestays on our sidewalks due to tall building shade, everyone is depressed by lack of sunshine, and everyone is angry from parking and traffic hassles that weren't properly planned for. I live on the North side, midtown, and we are dealing with blow after blow. We need a break. There is a large development already going in on N. 3rd that will provide over 400 housing units. When is it enough? Will it ever be enough? Please say no to this development. We do NOT want more transient residents in Bozeman, Weare losing our community. Thank you, Valerie Dewey325 N Montana Ave
