Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Dear Bozeman City Commission, Please reclaim your authority to review the Guthrie project for the following reasons: · Parking Issues: The exemption for parking requirements could overwhelm the surrounding neighborhood and risk the safety of the nearby school workers and children as people drive around frustrated looking for a parking spot close to their residences. · Zoning Imbalance: The additional height exemption of 30 feet would dwarf surrounding residences and cause a zoning imbalance between existing structures. · Specious Affordability Arguments: The affordability argument rings hallow when 80% of AMI is still unaffordable for the City of Bozeman where a meal on the low end of the scale costs $15 and a trip to the grocery often costs over a $100, not to mention the significant increase to utility costs thanks to our benevolent Northwestern captive monopoly. For these reasons, this project needs to be significantly modified to fit the safety and character needs of the surrounding neighborhood while reexamining the cost to the public and marginal benefit of housing at this still higher rate.
