Colleagues,
Not sure of protocol here: Dave Lapinski, owner of College Exxon at College and S. 8th, contacted me
on my personal cell with a concern about parking. With his permission, I am submitting his text to
me to public comment, as he would like to call the Commission’s attention to this frustration:
“I am thoroughly disgusted with the parking situation on College between 8th and 11th. The signs
may as well say free MSU parking instead of the posted 2hr and 15 min zones. Sidewalks, fire
hydrants, entryways regularly blocked, cars on street for days, even weeks. It is unfair for the
businesses on that street; I have people trying to park in my lot and and at neighboring businesses
illegally. I have contacted the parking division and received a "thanks, have a nice day" reply. Should
we as College Street business owners attend a meeting and voice our concerns? This is one of the
most abused streets in town.”
