There was a time when the newdevelopers took the old trees into consideration and designed new buildings around the trees like the big trees at theVerizon store on the corner of 7th and main. The architect designed that building under the city planners insistanceto save the trees which are still there and give not only shade but instant landscape. It takes years for trees to grow and thrive in new development. Many of the trees die because no one takes care ofthem. The very large Ponderosa Pine in the old Black Angus parking lot is an example of a tree that could be saved if thecity cares enough to insist plans for development take the tree into consideration. The tree was in someones backyard more than 100 years ago and it remains healthy and thriving with no extra water. Please consider buildingapproval around this tree. It’s the kind of tree in town we will see little of in our lifetime. The tree deserves to be saved! And the new building could use the shade as the summers warm to higher degreesthan Bozeman is used to. Thank you Sandee mills sandeemills@gmail.com
