Hello Representative Bozeman,
We are reaching back out as a follow-up to our initial email we sent to you on February 1, 2024
regarding low or no cost resources that you have access to through a partnership
between University of Montana and CyberMontana that can improve your organization’s cyber
defenses.
Below is a brief overview of these public sector program offerings now available to local Montana
government organizations at low or no cost.
Security Awareness Training (SAT):
We can help to mitigate human error and associated data breaches through security awareness
training (SAT). This training is based on best practices and is useful to all employees regardless of job
type or position. Please feel free to try a current lesson demo.
IT/Cybersecurity Professional Development:
We partner with industry-leading cyber education organizations to offer a wide variety of training
options for your existing IT/cyber staff. Training ranges from 1-hour lessons to in-depth multi-week
courses. Certification preparation for industry recognized credentials is available.
Cyber Rapid Training Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS):
Does someone on your staff need a jumpstart in cybersecurity? Our 10-15 week CTS in Cybersecurity
program does just that. Fully online and validated by the National Security Agency, this program
delivers a solid foundation in networking and cybersecurity.
Public Infrastructure Security Cyber Education System (PISCES)
Do you actively monitor your network? PISCES is a joint program of the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security (DHS) and the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) that
provides networking monitoring services at no charge to *small (*150 total full-time employees or
fewer) local government entities. The University of Montana is a PISCES educational partner.
