USDA Hosts Funding Workshops to Help Montana AgProducers Grow, Add Value, and Become More EnergyEfficient
Bozeman, Mont., Jan. 30, 2024 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural
Development in Montana is partnering with several in-state agricultural and economic
development partners to host workshops in eastern Montana Feb. 6, and Feb. 8 designed
to help agricultural producers and rural small businesses access federal funds that will
help them grow, add value to their products, or become more energy efficient.
USDA Rural Development in Montana staff will join representatives from America’s Small
Business Development Centers; Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation;
Great Northern Development Corporation; and the Montana Food and Agriculture
Development Network to provide a treasure trove of information on:
Working with Community Developers
Developing your small business
Funding opportunities through USDA Rural Development
Two workshops are scheduled:
Workshop 1: Tue., Feb. 6, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Glendive Chamber of
Commerce, 808 N. Merrill Ave., Glendive, Montana.
Workshop 2: Thu., Feb. 8, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Coffeehouse at
Lawler’s, 21 S. Main St., Baker, Montana.

USDA Rural Development in Montana program staff will be on hand to provide information
and application assistance with the following programs:
Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grants designed to help rural small
businesses purchase and install renewable energy systems or make energy
efficiency improvements.
Rural Business Development Grants (RBDG) that support targeted technical
assistance, training and other activities leading to small business development or
expansion.
Value-Added Producer Grants (VAPG) that help agricultural producers enter value-
added activities that grow or expand their rural small business.
