One of its goals is supposedly to help urban campers get off the streets into a stable living accomodations.Another objective is given as helping young families have a decent, safe place to live with their children . A place where they can also afford child care, food, utilities, and transportation. We have been watching construction of hundreds of multifamily units behind Home Depot, between Oak Street and Baxter. If you will consider the attached photo from Realtor.com I amwondering who will be able to afford rental prices of $3000.00 per month, plus utilities? A two bedroom, three story unit would be totally impractical for a family with infants or smallchildren due to safety. Another unit is $2750 no. Again with 2 beds, 2 baths . Just down the street on Tsache is a 2bed 2 bath furnished unit for $3500 month. This is not affordable housing in my opinion . And I suspect you would agree . This is just developers getting in while they can under the new bills passed by our legislature. If I read thezoning code correctly, the land behind Home Depot and Sportsmen's Warehouse is zoned for small commercial development first with housing being secondary.. The encroachment on wetlands is horrible and seeing the ghetto being built makes me want to leave Bozeman. We have gone downhill so fast it is making many heads spin. You are most definitely permitted to say "No" to a developer and certainly should do so until there is full compliance with parking accomodations for all residents within the property. Please consider the needs and wants of those who voted you into office expecting you to work WITH us .
