The BIB is soimportant to implementing the Bozeman City forCEDAW Resolution 5384 to advance women's and allhuman rights to ensure fairness, equity and inclusion byaddressing disparities and proposing solutions throughcomprehensive Action Plans for women's safety, economic security, health and well-being. And how thecommunity benefits when everyone, including women, youth and new arrivals, are safe and welcome. Bozeman is addressing change in many ways and thisincludes a greater focus on inclusivity and equity. Thecity’s BIB plan begins to do just that. No doubt, manyhave felt the frustrations of lack of safe, affordablehousing, livable wages, accessible health and childcareas well as threats to our safety in personal and publicspaces that violate our human rights to freedom ofmovement. We believe the solution is to collaborate, not isolate.BIB can help foster collaboration and encourage aholistic direction for our community. One example BIBmoves forward is women’s and girls’ safety in publictransportation through a collaboration between ourTask Force, HRDC’s Streamline program and HAVEN. It is important to recognize the gift that comes with amore diverse community — opportunities for learning, meeting residents from many backgrounds andperspectives, and more minds to grow a resilientcommunity. The BIB plan offers a significant solution tofairness and a sustainable place to live and work, incorporating important contributions diverse groups aremaking, so that we are leaving no one behind.
