RE: Public Housing Authority
Bozeman City Commissioners:
I am writing to support the formation of a Public Housing Authority in Bozeman. The need for
affordable housing has never been greater and the will of voters to provide such housing is also
great—as evidenced by the last mayoral election.
I support creating a Public Housing Authority because it would give the City the ability to
approve development of more mixed income housing options. My understanding of the two
recent HRDC proposals is that they would only create affordable housing for low income
residents. Real community means streets that contain housing for a diversified strata of socio-
economic classes. Bozeman doesn’t need more gentrification where luxury apartments are
separated from low income housing.
