Bozeman City Commissioners and Staff, I am writing in support of a public housing authority. Recent public outcry
over the UDC has made one thing clear -- housing is an issue in our city, and we can all agree that we want safe and
affordable housing (though we may disagree on how to get there). According to the Montana Code, it follows that
the city should establish a public housing authority to ensure public oversight into new development. We have seen
that private developers are not here to serve the housing needs of the majority of Bozemanites; therefore we need
safeguards in place to ensure a housing supply that works for us. A public housing authority would not further cost
taxpayers, and would help to create paying jobs while creating mixed-income housing solutions. Thank you for your
