Dear Commissioners, As a Bozeman resident, business owner, property owner and developer, I have been watching our area's workforce housing situation continually worsen over the years and it is nowreaching crisis proportions. I was the developer behind the 350 home Gateway Village residential project in Gallatin Gateway.....one of the single largest privately funded workforcehousing developments in the County.......and frankly, it required years of litigation and fighting the former Gallatin County Commission virtually every step of the way to bring new, desperately needed workforce housing into Gallatin County. Fortunately, in contrast, in Bozeman, the city is working hard via David Fine and Brit Fontenot to incentivize and bring privately funded affordable and attainable housing intoBozeman. I am working on some projects which involve bringing workforce oriented housing into Bozeman and am very appreciative of their proactive assistance. At the same time, thereappear to be code and other structural issues blocking the development of housing into our market. These code and other issues need to get addressed asap. While I don't have a clear position on the Municipal Housing Authority proposal, I would firstlike to commend Netsuki and her colleagues for giving a much needed voice advocating for finding creative solutions for addressing our urgent workforce affordable and attainablehousing solutions in our community. Second, I would strongly encourage the City Commission to proactively ramp up its efforts to amend and revise these aspects of the UDCto eliminate these structural constraints blocking the development of new workforce oriented housing. Time is of the essence. Sincerely,David Loseff
